Innovative dosage forms for better application

Mepha's products are not just copies of existing pharmaceutical products. They often score over the originals, due to their better dosage form, which makes it easier e.g. to divide the tablets or swallow them more easily, which means a more successful treatment. The active substances of our products are generally well known and were thoroughly tested in the past, but the products developed by us have been additionally subjected to testing by the authorities for their activity and tolerability before granting a licence.

Mepha has set itself the task of making existing dosage forms more patient-friendly. This has called for specially developed production methods and technologies. Basically any dosage form - tablets, suppositories, ointments, etc. - can be improved. First and foremost, such upgrading should make it easier for the patient to use them. For example, it is easier to swallow tablets that are smaller or disintegrate quickly, as in the case of dispersible tablets. Other examples include the easily breakable tablets, a more pleasant taste due to a coating, and the good solubility of effervescent tablets.

Mepha's products illustrate numerous optimized dosage forms. Some of these are our own inventions and are protected by our own patents (e.g. Gastrocaps™ and Rectocaps™). Others increase the field of application, as in the case of pellets, i.e. small spherical particles incorporating the active substance.
